Sérgio Tannus Trio:
Sérgio Tannus. Sérgio Tannus is one of the most accomplished artists of the Brazilian musical world. Skilled in playing a range of different instruments, such as guitars, violões, bass, cavaquinho, bandolín and percussion, as well as a self-taught musician, Tannus has developed his personal style in his quest for new sounds, connected to universal influences, not forgetting his Brazilian roots.
Since 2006, Sérgio Tannus has been living in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, north-west of Spain), from where he is currently promoting his work as a multi-instrumentist and singer-composer throughout different European countries.
Paulo Silva (percussions) born in Salvador de Bahia, studied Jazz drumming with Michael Kuettner in Germany and was featured in numerous recordings as a drummer, percussionist or vocalist. Since his arrival in Galicia, he has collaborated with artists such as: Budiño, Odaiko, Uxía, Guadi Galego, Xoán Curiel, Emilio Rúa, Carlos Branco, Quico Cadaval, Óscar Fernández, Óscar Ibáñez, Mercedes Peón, Jorge Pardo, Kepa Junkera, Socorro Lira, Fred Martins, Joao Afonso, L.A.R. Legido, Monkillos, Alejandro Vargas, among others.
Gutier Álvarez (zanfona, violin and bagpipes) represents the element of novelty in this formation and brings the Galician ingredient to the mix of the live concerts of SON BRASILEGO. Born in Pobra de Trives, Gutier became interested at a very tender age in traditional music and strats playing with various bands in festivals across Europe. He has been a part of various projects such as Os Cempés, Pablo Seoane Grupo ou ‘Descarga ao vivo Galiza-Cuba’. At present he teaches violin in Santiago´s aCentral Folque.
Sérgio Tannus Quartet:
Pablo Vidal Mendoza. Multi-instrumentist, combining various different sytyles and tendencies. After a long period of involvement in the Galician musical and cultural movement with bands such as “7ª Convocatoria”, “Os Resentidos”, etc. and after working as arranger and session musician, Pablo currently composes, produces and records on a professional basis, in his home studio close to the Ría de Arousa estuary.
He has collaborated in a great number of projects, such as, among the most recent ones, “Purofilin”, “Steps 4 Jazz”, “A Doce Vita Sons de cine”, “Os Resentidos” etc.
Sérgio Tannus Quintet:
Pablo Seoane (piano) is one of the most active Galician musicians. Trained at the Conservatorio Superior of Coruña and at the Seminario Permanente of Pontevedra, Pablo has participated in various masterclass with musicioans such as Mulgrew, Abe Rábade and Jesús Santandreu, among others. Apart from his work as a pianist, he composes for the theatre, as well as for numerous projects related to Brazilian music, seeing that Jazz and Brazilian music are his favourite genres.
